Man shot dead in Back of the Yards

A 39-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday evening in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.

Alejandro Morales was shot in the right torso at 7:23 p.m. in the 4300 block of South Paulina, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Morales, of the 4500 block of South Hermitage, was taken to University of Illinois Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:02 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

His death was ruled a homicide.
