A 26-year-old inmate at the Kendall County Jail has been charged with battering two jail guards.

Taylor Cano, of Aurora, was charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery, according to a statement from Kendall County sheriff’s office.

At 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, he allegedly battered two corrections officers when they tried to retrieve a food tray from his cell, the sheriff’s office said. Both deputies were treated for cuts and bruises at a hospital and later released.

Cano remains in custody at the jail, the sheriff’s office said.
