Man shot in arm in Avalon Park

A man was shot Wednesday morning in the Avalon Park neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responded to the shooting just before noon in the 8000 block of South Stony Island Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

The 23-year-old man was shot in the upper left arm and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition stabilized.

A police source said the wound may have been self-inflicted.
