Three people were shot during six hours of Chicago gun violence from Thursday afternoon into the evening.

The latest shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. in the South Deering neighborhood on the Far South Side.

A 25-year-old man was arguing with two other people who shot him as he tried to drive away in the 10600 block of South Bensley, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Two hours earlier, a 28-year-old man was shot in the face in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

He was found outside about 6:20 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Wood and taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital. Police said the shooting likely was gang-related.

The day’s first shooting left a 15-year-old boy wounded in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

He was standing in an alley in the 3300 block of West Flournoy about 2:15 p.m. when a gunman walked up, opened fire and ran away, police said.

The boy suffered multiple gunshot wounds and took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital. He was listed in good condition.
