A 17-year-old boy was shot Saturday in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

The boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 7300 block of South Jeffrey Avenue at 2:30 p.m. when a green or blue car drove by and someone inside fired shots,Chicago Police said.

He suffered a gunshot wound tothe groin and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.
