A man was wounded in a shooting early Thursday at a gas station in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 28-year-old man was sitting in a white van at the gas station in the 3300 block of West Harrison at 12:10 a.m. when a male fired at him from a silver-colored car, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The man was shot in the left shoulder and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the victim is a documented gang member.
