A man was shot Sunday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 26-year-old man was shot in the 3600 block of West Lexington at 10:01 a.m., according to Chicago Police.

He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
