A 22-year-old man was shot early Monday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

He was standing outside about 3:05 a.m. in the 3000 block of West Walnut when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the left leg, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
