A woman was shot in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood late Saturday on the Far South Side.

The 54-year-old was walking on the street about 11:45 p.m. in the 700 block of East 131st Street when she heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

She was shot in the right hip and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where her condition was stabilized, police said.
