A 26-year-old man was wounded Thursday night during an armed robbery in the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side.

The man was sitting in a parked red SUV just after 10 p.m. in the 6100 block of North Wolcott when three males approached, according to Chicago Police. One of them got into the back seat of the SUV, showed a gun and announced a robbery.

He then shot the man in his right shoulder before running away with his cell phone and wallet, police said.

The man was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
