Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta thought it was funny when a fan said Detroit Tigers pitcher David Price would be a great No. 3 pitcher behind Jon Lester and Arrieta in the Cubs rotation.

Price responded on Tuesday, saying he loved Arrieta’s response.

Jon Lester congratulates Jake Arrieta for another stellar performanceThere are rumors of Price being on the move during trade deadline, and the Cubs are in need of another starting pitcher. It all matters what the Cubs have to give up for Price, because ESPN writer Tim Kurkjian thinks the Cubs won’t mortgage their future for a rental player.

Will Starlin Castro be moved for starting pitching? Price is 9-3 with a 2.32 ERA and 127 strikeouts this season.
