A man was shot during an attempted robbery in the Roseland neighborhood early Monday on the Far South Side.

About 12:30 a.m., the 28-year-old was standing outside in the 10700 block of South Wentworth when two males attempted to rob him at gunpoint, police said.

One of the males then opened fire, striking the man in the right shin, police said. He later walked into Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
