Man robs Portage Park bank

A man who robbed a Northwest Side bank Saturday morning is also suspected of trying to rob a West Side bank about two hours earlier, the FBI said.

At 11:37 a.m., the suspect robbed a BMO Harris Bank branch at 5960 W. Irving Park Rd., according to the FBI. He did not show a weapon.

He is described as a black male in his late 30s, standing between 5-feet-10 and 5-feet-11, weighing between 160 and 175 pounds, the FBI said. He was wearing a blue jacket with tan sleeves and a black baseball hat with an “I.”

The same man is also suspected of attempting to rob a U.S. Bank branch, at 6700 W. North Ave., at 9:46 a.m. Saturday, the FBI said.
