Illinois hunting: Turkey season, north zone 1st season

SHARE Illinois hunting: Turkey season, north zone 1st season

Harvest during first season of spring turkey hunting in Illinois’ north zone mirrors the upturn seen in harvest in the first two seasons in the south zone. Yeah, I was happy to do my part to pump up the numbers (above).

Here is the word from Chris Young, the communications director for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources:

First season in the North Zone concluded with a preliminary harvest of 2,343, up from 1,848 last year. Fifty counties were up, 11 were down, and five remained the same. A spreadsheet with preliminary results is attached.
