A 35-year-old man showed up at Provident Hospital just before 5 p.m. Saturday with gunshot wounds to the back and side, according to the police, who said he told authorities another man shot him near 47th Street and Shields Avenue in Fuller Park on the South Side before taking off in a white vehicle.

He was transferred to Stroger Hospital, and his condition was stabilized, the police said.
