A man was fatally shot and a woman was stabbed Thursday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side, according to Chicago Police.

About 4:05 p.m., the 25-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 25-year-old woman suffered multiple stab wounds to her body in the 4000 block of West 21st Street, police said. The incident was believed to be domestic-related.

The woman was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. The man later died.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released the victim’s name, awaiting notification of family.

Charges against the woman were pending Friday, police said.
