A man was shot early Saturday in the Montclare neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 31-year-old told investigators he was walking at 2:18 a.m. in the 7100 block of West Diversey when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the shoulder, according to Chicago Police.

The man, who was “highly intoxicated,” was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
