A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 27-year-old was walking in the 7000 block of South Jeffery at 1:48 p.m. when multiple people walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot multiple times and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.
