A man was found shot outside a Wal-Mart store Tuesday night in northwest suburban Palatine.

Officers responded about 7:30 p.m. to the store at 1555 N. Rand Rd. and found a 19-year-old man in the parking lot, suffering a gunshot wound, according to a statement from Palatine police.

He was conscious and able to provide information to the officers, police said. He was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, but his condition was not available.

Witnesses initially told officers that shooters may have been inside the store, but the officers eventually determined the suspects had left the scene, police said.

A vehicle used in the shooting was recovered, police said Wednesday. Investigators were interviewing potential suspects, but no one had been charged.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Palatine police investigators at (847) 359-9000.
