A 16-year-old boy was shot Wednesday afternoon in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Houston, Chicago Police said.

The boy was struck in his left leg and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.
