A 14-year-old boy was seriously wounded in a shooting late Wednesday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

He was walking down the street at 10:47 p.m. in the 200 block of North Lockwood when he heard shots and realized he’d been struck in the chest, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
