Man, 19, shot in Austin

A man was wounded Thursday evening in an Austin neighborhood shooting on the West Side.

The 19-year-old was walking at 6:47 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Mayfield Avenue when someone walked up and fired shots, striking him in the right leg, according to Chicago Police.

He got himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was in good condition, police said.
