A man shot to death Friday night in the Hegewisch neighborhood on the Far South Side has been identified as a 28-year-old Morgan Park resident.

Guy Lopez was traveling inside a vehicle about 8:15 p.m. in the 13700 block of South Torrence when another vehicle drove past and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lopez was struck multiple times, and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. An autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

No one was in custody Friday night as Area South detectives investigated.
