A man was shot Saturday afternoon in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

The 67-year-old was walking to his vehicle at 1:43 p.m. in the 800 block of East 46th Street when a gray SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, striking him in his hip and abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A parked Chevrolet was also struck by gunfire during the shooting, police said.

Police initially said the shooting happened in the 4600 block of South Drexel.
