A woman was shot Tuesday evening in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

The 28-year-old was getting out of her vehicle about 5 p.m. in the 4800 block of South Cottage Grove when she heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

The woman initially thought it was a BB gun, but she decided later to go to University of Chicago Medical Center, where they determined it was a gunshot wound, police said. She was in good condition.

No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated the shooting.
