Man shot on Near West Side

A man was wounded in a shooting Tuesday evening on the Near West Side.

The 20-year-old was shot in the hand at 6:53 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Washington, according to Chicago Police.

The man told police he was walking in an alley when an unknown offender began firing shots at him.

He showed up at Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
