Man shot during attempted armed robbery on Near West Side

A man was shot during an attempted armed robbery Friday evening in on the Near West Side.

The 25-year-old was being robbed about 5:35 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Ashland when he suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, according to Chicago Police.

His condition stabilized at Stroger Hospital, police said.
