A boy was attacked by a coyote Wednesday near the lakefront in Lincoln Park on the North Side, police said.

The 6-year-old was bitten multiple times about 4 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Cannon Drive, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The coyote escaped northbound after the attack, police said.

Police initially said the boy was 5 years old.

On Tuesday, a coyote was rescued after falling into Lake Michigan at Monroe Harbor.
