A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot Wednesday in suburban Calumet City.

The shooting happened about 6:40 a.m. in the 500 block of East End Avenue, according to Calumet City police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Tanche Robinson, of Hazel Crest, suffered a gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene, the medical examiner’s officials said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Calumet City police and The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
