Christopher Mosley, 29, was charged with being an armed habitual criminal after a gun was allegedly found in his vehicle during a traffic stop Tuesday. He has not been charged with the Jan. 28 murder of Gregory Jackson III.

Gregory Jackson III — more widely known as “Lil Greg” — was in the Studio Nineteen barbershop, at 1931 S. State St., shortly after noon on Jan. 28 when someone walked in and shot him in the face.

The shooting happened Thursday in the 1900 block of South State Street.

The new charges, made public Wednesday by the Chicago Police Board, allege John Catanzara filed a false police report against former Supt. Eddie Johnson after Johnson took part in an anti-violence march on the Dan Ryan Expressway in July 2018.

“Any time one of us, an Englewood resident, is carjacked and held at gunpoint on Christmas morning, we know that it is time for us to come together and find some solutions as it relates to public safety,” Ald. Stephanie Coleman (16th) said during a virtual town hall meeting Tuesday.
