A person was arrested in connection to a homicide in which a man was shot 11 times at close range in Little Village, police said Monday.

David Lopez was shot several times in his body about 7:50 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of West 23rd Street, authorities said. The 34-year-old died later at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Shortly after the shooting, police held a 12-hour standoff about a block away with someone wanted in the shooting. A police spokeswoman was unable to say if the arrested person was involved in the standoff. No charges have been filed.

Security video footage of the shooting was leaked to several media outlets Sunday night. And though it was quickly taken down by Twitter, the video remained on YouTube as of Monday morning.

Lopez — whose family could not be reached — can be seen standing behind a retractable steel gate in the backyard of a home. On the other side of the gate, in the alley, are three males who appear to be speaking with Lopez.

One of the men in the alley, dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and red sweatpants, can be seen flashing gang signs at Lopez before striking him in the face. A few seconds later, another man, wearing a baseball cap, blue jeans and camouflage coat, reaches into his sleeve and draws a black handgun.

The man sticks the gun, apparently a pistol, through the gate and points it directly in Lopez’s face from just a few inches away. A moment later, the man fires a shot and Lopez collapses to the ground. Two of the three men in the alley then start to walk away as the shooter fires 10 more rounds into Lopez.
