The Bears showed they are committed to quarterback David Fales Monday when they waived backup Jimmy Calusen in order to promote Fales to the 53-man roster.

Bears coach John Fox said that another team had shown interest in Fales, forcing Chicago to elevate the former sixth-round pick out of San Jose State.
