INDIANAPOLIS — Pernell McPhee had his troublesome left knee fixed.

A source confirmed Wednesday that the Bears’ outside linebacker had arthroscopic surgery this offseason. The procedure is generally not considered serious enough to threaten his training camp participation. He is aiming to be ready by then.

The Bears monitored McPhee’s injury the second half of the season. He missed 88 snaps through the season’s first eight weeks; the rest of the year, he missed two games. In the ones in which he played, McPhee sat for 223 snaps.

McPhee admitted the last week of the season that surgery was a possibility.

“I just gotta continue to pray and handle business during the offseason, whatever it may require,” he said then.
