Ty Rattie has backed up a strong rookie campaign with an impressive second season, and on Tuesday he was rewarded with an all-star nod.

Rattie was the lone Wolves player named to the Western Conference all-star team that will play Jan. 26 in Utica, New York. The 21-year-old forward leads the Wolves with 15 goals and 23 points, and is also third in the AHL in goals.

Last season, Rattie led the Wolves with 31 goals and 48 points, totals he’s on track to match this year.

Joining Rattie on the Western Conference team are a pair of Rockford IceHogs – forward Joakim Nordstrom and defenseman T.J. Brennan. Nordstrom, currently with the Blackhawks, was named Rockford’s captain and has 13 points in 17 games. Brennan, last season’s AHL most outstanding defenseman who was acquired from the New York Islanders as part of the Nick Leddy trade, leads the IceHogs with 28 points.
