McDonald’s rolled out a new McPick 2 program Monday as the fast-food giant keeps tweaking its value menu promotion.
The new McPick 2 will set you back $5 but the options this time are some of the chain’s best-known sandwiches: the Big Mac, a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, a Filet-O-Fish and a Quarter Pounder with cheese.
“We wanted to thank our guests for providing their feedback as we continue to build a better McDonald’s,” said Chef Jessica Foust, McDonald’s director of culinary innovation. “We are making our most iconic menu items available for a limited time at never before seen value.”
The Oak Brook company introduced the McPick 2 menu in January. For $2, customers could choose two from among the McDouble, McChicken, a small fry or mozzarella sticks. The first McPick 2 promotion ended in early February.

McDonald’s and other fast-food chains are trying to wean customers off the $1 price.
In 2012, McDonald’s rolled out an “Extra Value Menu” that offered items for a range of prices. The company later turned to the “Dollar Menu & More,” which channeled a proven name but may have confused people with its range of prices.
McDonald’s isn’t alone in the struggle. Wendy’s tried replacing its 99-cent menu with a “Right Price Right Size” menu, but acknowledged the switch wasn’t doing the job. Last fall, it began promoting a limited-time “4 for $4″ deal that includes a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, fries and a drink.
