WASHINGTON–Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., is at the O’Hare Airport mail facility on Monday morning, throwing a press conference to keep pressure up on the Chinese to crackdown on the export of synthetic marijuana. Kirk will appear with U.S. Customs and Border Protection staffers.

From Kirk’s office:

Sen. Kirk recently sent a letter to the Chinese government requesting answers on the topic and demanding a crackdown on the export of these drugs. O’Hare Airport has become one of the largest hubs for synthetic marijuana. Teenagers in the Chicago suburbs and across the state are using these substances without knowing the danger and sometimes with fatal consequences.
