A 25-year-old man was killed in a shooting Friday in South Shore.

About 12:53 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot detector alert in the 7200 block of South Jeffery Boulevard, Chicago police said.

They found Devante Boldon with gunshot wounds to the back and head in the driver’s side of a vehicle that had crashed into a building, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced on the scene.

An autopsy Friday ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
