Man robbed, shot in Lawndale

He was standing on the sidewalk about 1:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Douglas Boulevard when two males approached him and took his phone.

A 21-year-old man was wounded Sunday when he was shot during an armed robbery in Lawndale on the West Side. 

He was standing on the sidewalk about 1:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Douglas Boulevard when two males approached him on foot and took his cellphone at gunpoint, Chicago police said.

The man was shot in the buttocks as he ran off, police said. His condition was stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital.

No arrests have been made as Area Central detectives investigate.
