A man was wounded in a shooting Monday near Ellis Park in Bronzeville on the South Side.

The 39-year-old was standing on the sidewalk about 2:45 p.m. in the 600 block of East 37th Street when a car pulled up and someone inside shot at him, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his lower left leg, police said. His condition was stabilized.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
