A 23-year-old man died Wednesday from gunshot wounds sustained in an Oct. 4 shootout.

Ten days after being critically wounded in a shootout in Englewood, a 23-year-old man died of his injuries.

The man, identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Narmere Shakur Young of West Englewood, died Wednesday at the University of Chicago Medical Center of complications from multiple gunshot wounds.

He and two others were wounded Oct. 4 around 3:05 p.m. in an exchange of gunfire in the 5800 block of South Ashland Avenue on the South Side.
