West Lawn shooting: Person killed on Kilbourn

He was on the sidewalk when someone shot him in the head and chest, police said.

A child was hurt in a shooting March 18, 2022, in Cragin. — A person was shot dead Dec. 31, 2020, in West Lawn.

A person was fatally shot Thursday in West Lawn on the Southwest Side, police said.

About 7 p.m., a male was on the sidewalk in the 6000 block of South Kilbourn Avenue when he was shot in the head and chest, Chicago police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as Jorge Chavez, 25, by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Area One detectives are investigating.
