A Joliet man is charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy Sunday in the southwest city.
Jimmy Baker, 18, is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in the death of Pedro Zabala, Joliet police said.
Zabala was found with a gunshot wound to the head about 10:16 a.m. near the intersection of Ottawa and Monroe streets, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Through witness statements and recovered video from the area, it was determined that Baker was involved in the fatal shooting of Zabala,” police said.
Baker was scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday afternoon, according to county records.
