A man was wounded in a shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway late Tuesday morning.
The man was shot around 11:55 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 94 near 84th Street, according to the Illinois State Police.
The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago fire officials said. State police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

The shooting is the second reported in recent days on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
On Sunday, a 30-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were shot about 7:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-94 near 95th Street, state police said.
Shootings on Chicago-area expressways have more than doubled over the last year. There have been 213 reports of shootings or shots fired so far in 2021, according to state police. In the same period in 2020, there were 101 reports of gunfire.
Expressway shootings this year have already eclipsed 2020’s year-end total of 128 shootings.
