A teenage boy was seriously wounded in a shooting Wednesday in Altgeld Gardens on the Far South Side.

The boy, 16, was standing outside about 10:15 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots at him in the 13100 block of South Ingleside Avenue, Chicago police said.

The boy was struck in the chest and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
