Home burglaries reported in Pilsen, Heart of Chicago

A string of home burglaries have been reported in May in neighborhoods on the Lower West Side.

Police are warning Lower West Side residents of a string of recent home burglaries reported in Pilsen and Heart of Chicago.

In each incident, someone enters the home through an open window or by forcing open a rear door and takes items from inside, Chicago police said.

The burglaries happened:

  • About 12:15 a.m. May 10 in the 900 block of West 18th Place;
  • Between 7:50 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 19 in the 900 block of West 19th Place;
  • Between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. May 22 in the 1800 block of West 21st Place;

Police did not have a description of the burglar.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Three detectives at 312-744-8263.
