A man was shot inside a restaurant on the Far South Side Friday.

A man was shot while sitting inside a restaurant on the Far South Side early Friday.

Someone approached the entrance to the restaurant in the 8400 block of South Stony Island Avenue just before 1:25 a.m. and opened fire, Chicago Police said.

He was shot in the groin and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
