A 17-year-old boy was seriously hurt in a shooting Saturday in Englewood on the South Side.

The teen boy was in an apartment about 1:35 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Normal Avenue when someone shot him, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the abdomen and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
