Una tormenta invernal en Chicago trajo más de 7 pulgadas de nieve en algunas partes de la ciudad.
La nieve comenzó a caer alrededor de la medianoche y, para el mediodía, se registraron 7.2 pulgadas de nieve en el Aeropuerto Midway, según el Servicio Meteorológico Nacional.
Se registró un total de 3.3 pulgadas de nieve en Evanston y en el Aeropuerto Internacional O’Hare, dijo el servicio meteorológico.
Las advertencias de tormenta de invierno estaban programadas para expirar al mediodía del viernes, pero se extendieron a las 2 p.m. Se anticipa que las temperaturas desciendan a los 20 grados el viernes por la noche, y las nevadas adicionales podrían acumular entre 1 y 3 pulgadas más.
Unos 270 camiones quitanieves recorrieron las calles de Chicago durante la noche, según el Departamento de Calles y Saneamiento.
