An 18-year-old man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the Avalon Park neighborhood on the South Side.

It happened about 12:20 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Avalon, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was shot in both legs and transported to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center in good condition, police said.
