Tom Ng was good to his word.
‘‘I have been fishing the Chicago shoreline a lot lately and catching decent numbers of fish, sometimes breaking off what I assumed were giants,” he emailed. ‘‘So I called the taxidermist . . . and told the proprietor that I was going to try and bring him something nice in the next week or two.”
On Thursday, Ng landed a 35-inch brown trout that weighed 20.54 pounds while fishing a minnow in Burnham Harbor.
‘‘I’m glad my tackle held, and there was a great net job by my friend John Miller, a seasoned stick,” Ng emailed.
As promised, the fish went to Nature’s Way Taxidermy.
